What kind are you?

One, oneself can deal with halitosis

There are many bacteria in the mouth, one of which is [smelly bacteria], which is the main culprit of halitosis.

Odor-producing bacteria can digest the retained substances in the oral cavity through putrefaction to produce volatile sulfide, i.e. Halitosis gas, whose composition is somewhat similar to fart.

If you want to get rid of halitosis, everything has to revolve around [eliminating odor-producing bacteria]. We can do this.

1. Make them homeless

This is too simple. Daily cleaning such as brushing teeth, flossing and brushing tongue coating is simply an earthquake and tsunami-like natural disaster for odor-producing bacteria.

Studies have found that the prevalence rate of halitosis in people who brush their teeth more than twice per day is much lower than that in people who brush their teeth less than twice per day, while brushing tongue coating can reduce the concentration of halitosis gas in their mouth by 35% ~ 56%.

2. Let the odor-producing bacteria starve

Rinse your mouth quickly after eating.

3. Drug that odor-producing bacteria

    I didn’t expect to drink tea, In fact, tea polyphenols can inhibit the growth and odor-producing ability of odor-producing bacteria. No wonder many uncles have a cup of tea after meals… they are indeed old drivers… they probably found out, This way, halitosis will be lighter. Use mouthwash containing antibacterial ingredients. Some mouthwash contains antibacterial and bacteriostatic ingredients, which can inhibit or kill odor-producing bacteria. However, this mouthwash must be selected under the guidance of a doctor and cannot be used for a long time.

4. Get rid of bad living habits

At this stage, the odor-producing bacteria are almost dead. At this time, we should pay special attention not to do anything that self-destructs the Great Wall, such as smoking and drinking.

    Regular smoking will produce smoke stains on the tooth surface, making tartar easy to deposit, increasing the formation speed of plaque, and allowing odor-producing bacteria to recover quickly after natural disasters. Smoking will aggravate the anaerobic environment in the mouth and make the living environment of odor-producing bacteria better. Tobacco combustion products can directly generate volatile sulfide in the mouth, and halitosis can also be produced without odor-producing bacteria. After drinking, alcohol will produce acetaldehyde or other odorous substances, which will then be discharged from the mouth to form a special [wine odor]; In addition, alcohol dries the oral mucosa, and once the secretion of saliva is less, the odor-producing bacteria will have good weather and abundant grain.

Which situations of halitosis cannot be handled by oneself?

1. Odor-producing bacteria hide in places you can’t clean by yourself.

For example, periodontal disease, it will make the tooth meat and tooth joint produce a small groove as deep as 3 mm or more. Don’t underestimate this small groove, the dental plaque in the groove accounts for 60% ~ 70% of the total amount of dental plaque in the oral cavity, and the odor-producing bacteria hide in it to fart. You can’t take it at all.

Another example is pericoronitis of wisdom teeth, which is actually the same as periodontal disease. The difference is only that the groove formed by wisdom teeth and tooth meat is larger, so large that it is already a pocket, which not only hides odor-producing bacteria, but also can hide their spare grain for months.

There are also serious tooth decay and rotten teeth with holes, which are like a big bunker for odor-producing bacteria. If you hoard food in the bunker for a year, the wind and rain outside have nothing to do with odor-producing bacteria.

2. Decreased saliva secretion

This may be related to many factors such as drug effects, salivary gland diseases, radiation damage, etc. The teeth have lost the ability to [take a bath by themselves], and the odor-producing bacteria are naturally very happy.

3. The cause of halitosis is not in the mouth.

About 10% ~ 20% halitosis is caused by problems in other parts of the body, which are mainly some chronic systemic diseases, such as sinusitis, tonsillitis, gastropathy, pneumonia, diabetes, etc.
