A Mother’s True Test Tube Story (5): Make These Preparations Before Being a Test Tube Baby

The last story said that the hero chose a suitable hospital and decided to start the treatment of IVF (click to view).

The preparatory work for IVF is a bit complicated, and today’s article can give you some reference.

The preliminary examination of IVF is a complicated task. Not only are there many items, but the mood after getting the results is also very complicated. If the results are normal, you will be very happy. If the results are abnormal, you will be on tenterhooks, afraid of affecting the IVF process.

Next, I will list the prepared items and precautions one by one according to my own experience, hoping to give you some reference.

Prepare the necessary documents

When determining to be a IVF, relevant certificates, commonly known as [three certificates], must be prepared, including:

Marriage Certificate Both Parties’ ID Card Birth Certificate (First or Second Child Certificate)

Please note that the [birth certificate] is required for IVF, not the [birth certificate].

[Birth Certificate] is used to prove that the first marriage did not have children or gave birth to a second child. If it is the first child, go to the street family planning office where the registered permanent residence is located and stamp it. If you have a second child, you need to go to the local Family Planning Commission (Bureau) to handle it.

Each reproductive center will provide an electronic version of the birth certificate, which can be printed by itself, and then bring the account book, ID card, marriage certificate and medical record (medical record proving infertility) to the family planning department where the man or woman is located to stamp.

Both husband and wife should check

Before doing IVF, both husband and wife should do a good job of examination. The specific items are as follows:

The examination to be done by the man,

Blood routine examination of mycoplasma and chlamydia, urine routine examination of Treponema pallidum specific resistance determination of liver function routine examination of hepatitis B three-line qualitative examination of hepatitis B antibody determination of hepatitis C antibody determination of human immunodeficiency virus antibody determination of blood group (Rh blood group) semen routine strict sperm morphology analysis chest radiograph

The examination to be done by the woman

Blood Routine TORCH Five Urine Routine Plasma Coagulation Time Determination, Activated Partial Coagulation Time Determination Hepatitis C Antibody Determination Hepatitis B Antibody Determination Liver Function Routine Examination Hepatitis B Three Series Qualitative Examination Human Immunodeficiency Virus Antibody Determination Blood Type (Rh Blood Type) Six Sex Hormones (Check on the 3rd Day of Menstruation) Leucorrhea Routine Mycoplasma, Chlamydia Cervical Smear Electrocardiogram Chest Film

Because my husband and I are not over 30 years old and have no related diseases, the doctor did not ask us to check our chromosomes. However, some people still need chromosomes to be checked so that the doctor can determine the next treatment plan.

The above examination items are all taken as an example by Shaw Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University Medical College for your reference only. The situation in each hospital may be a little different. In addition, according to the personal physical condition, some items may increase or decrease.

Finally, I would like to talk about the matters needing attention. There are mainly three aspects:

  1. In addition to routine semen and strict sperm analysis (because tests are required for a short time after semen is removed), other tests can be performed in local qualified hospitals.

  2. People with medical insurance can go to hospitals within the scope of medical insurance for examination, which can save expenses. If there is no shortage of money, it is recommended to have a physical examination in the hospital where IVF is performed so that doctors can inquire about the situation at any time.

  3. After deciding to have a test tube, it is best to go to the hospital for the first time for examination on the 3rd day of the woman’s menstruation, the man’s abstinence for 3-6 days, and the husband and wife go together.
