Can’t you drink hot water with disposable paper cups? Before drinking, these three keys should be known.

When many people use disposable paper cups, their hearts refuse, especially when drinking hot water and hot drinks.

People often take out their thermos cups and use their actions to explain: I refuse disposable paper cups! I don’t even need to die of thirst.

Can’t disposable paper cups really drink hot water?

Well, you can’t drink hot water… Because… Because it will burn.

Some people say that disposable paper cups should be divided into cold drink cups and hot drink cups. If the cold drink cup is filled with hot water, when the water temperature exceeds 40 ℃, the wax coated in the cup will melt.

Melting? How about that? This is not a what candle.

The inner wall of the disposable paper cup does have a smooth layer, a small part of the coating is paraffin wax, and most of the coating is polyethylene, which is very safe.

Let’s talk about this paraffin wax first. According to national standards, paraffin wax is a safe material that can come into contact with food. The melting point of paraffin wax is quite high, reaching more than 200 degrees.

If, as the rumor goes, it melts in hot water, then you can immediately see the wax become wax oil floating on the water with the naked eye.

The more common polyethylene used is also very resistant to temperature and low in cost. It also has a very prominent characteristic, that is, it is very pure and contains almost no chemical additives, what plasticizer, bisphenol A and so on, all of which have nothing to do with it.

There is another saying:

The first glass of water poured with a disposable paper cup must not be drunk. It must be scalded for 5 minutes to dissolve out the harmful substances and pour them out first.

This is also very unreliable.

For example, polyethylene and polypropylene are pure polymers that do not contain harmful substances. Where can we dissolve harmful substances? What’s more, if there are these harmful substances, they cannot be removed by boiling water in a few minutes.

In the production process of paper cups, it is true that they all need to go through a step of high-temperature disinfection and sterilization process, and there is no need for consumers to disinfect themselves so much trouble.

Rinse the cup with water, the most is to remove the dust that may exist on the inner wall.

Does that mean that you can drink water with disposable paper cups with complete confidence? No.

We also need to be careful of inferior paper cups.

The profit of disposable paper cups is very low, which is the hardest hit area with no products. If water is filled with inferior paper cups, it may be easier to leak water.

If you put cold water, you will get wet at most, but if you put hot water, it will be very bad for people to be scalded.

How to identify inferior paper cups?

1. The intima of the cup should not be uneven.

If the spraying process of disposable paper cups is relatively poor, it is easy to leak water.

In an ideal paper cup, the inner coating will be very uniform, and the wax film or plastic film will be very smooth. With the help of light, take an appropriate angle and observe the spraying of the inner film of the paper cup, which can be simply judged by naked eyes.

2. It is strictly prohibited to print any pattern within 15mm from the outside of the cup to the mouth of the cup.

The state has detailed regulations on the material, shape and addition of additives of paper cups, including the printing standard of cup body patterns.

When drinking water, our lower lip will come into contact with the outside of the cup body, and the ink printed on the disposable paper cup body will easily fall off, while the ink has certain insecurity.

According to the national standard, it is strictly prohibited to print any pattern in the area within 15mm from the outside of the cup body to the cup mouth.

Most of the time we can’t see QS (Product Quality and Safety) logo, production information and production date on the paper cup. However, if the paper cup comes from a regular manufacturer, at least it must be up to standard in printing, which can be identified at a glance.

3. The paper cup has no peculiar smell of choking nose.

Sometimes the cup bought looks of good quality, but it feels peculiar smell, and it is the sour taste of choking nose, which can basically be concluded to be caused by moldy paper materials.

Although there is no shelf life for paper cups, the paper cups bought at home should not be stored for too long, especially in humid areas in the south.

If you buy paper cups with peculiar smell from regular channels, you should find merchants to coordinate the return.
