When the weather is hot, your feet stink. Is this beriberi?

Beriberi and foot odor are not the same thing! There is foot odor, at most it is smoked a little; There is beriberi, that is too torture:

The itching makes people mad.

May cause onychomycosis, tinea manuum, tinea corporis and other problems;

It is easy to relapse.

What is beriberi? How should we treat it?

This is beriberi

The main culprit of foot odor is foot sweat.

After sweating, some bacteria on the feet break down some substances in the sweat, thus metabolizing substances with special odor. As for beriberi, it is essentially a fungal infection. This fungus is common in nature and people, and it is easy to infect each other from person to person.

From the appearance, beriberi is generally divided into 4 types.

1. Inter-toe beriberi

The main manifestations are itching, erythema or peeling and soaking between the toes. When cracks occur between the toes, there will also be pain.

2. Hyperkeratinized beriberi

When this kind of beriberi occurs, it can be found that the skin at the corresponding part of the sole of the foot is very thick and sometimes there are cracks.

3. Blister beriberi

It is manifested by the growth of some small blisters, which often appear on the side of the sole of the foot. After the blisters rupture, clear liquid may also flow out.

4. Ulcer beriberi

This kind of beriberi is relatively rare and serious, manifested as erosion or ulcer between toes.

No beriberi, need to prevent

If you find that you don’t have beriberi, you are allowed to steal it for a while, but you still need to pay attention to prevention. After all, beriberi is still easy to infect. Prevention of beriberi mainly starts from eliminating the source of infection and blocking the transmission route of beriberi.

1. Eliminating the source of infection

If you have onychomycosis yourself, you should cure it completely. If your family has beriberi or onychomycosis, you should also treat it. In addition, if you have small animals in your family, remember to give them regular physical examination and disinfection treatment.

2. Blocking the transmission route of beriberi

Try to avoid sharing towels, shoes and socks among family members. In the gym, pool, public bathroom and other public areas, it is best to bring their own slippers and other equipment. Also pay attention to one thing: try not to go to pedicure shops or pedicure shops and other places that are easy to infect fungi.

Beriberi must be treated

Once fungal infection spreads to toenails, onychomycosis (commonly known as [onychomycosis]) will follow. When it spreads to other parts of the body, skin diseases such as tinea manuum and tinea cruris will occur. Therefore, beriberi must be treated as early as possible and standardized.

Don’t do the following things.

Wrong Practice 1: Feeding Feet to Soak Foot

Who thought of soaking feet with vinegar, ginger, garlic and tea? It sounds good… To be serious, these unscientific foot soaking remedies have no effect on the treatment of beriberi, and may also irritate the skin. Then infection is more likely to occur, and the loss outweights the gain.

Wrong Practice 2: Use Hormonal Drugs

Some people want to cure beriberi with a sincere heart. I went to the drugstore happily and bought hormone ointment. Attention, After getting beriberi, the external use of these hormone ointments is likely to cause the spread of fungal infection, but will aggravate the symptoms of beriberi. In addition, there are some ointments on the market that do not take the Chinese medicine standard name. They are just some disinfection products and are not suitable for the treatment of any skin diseases.

Wrong Practice 3: Don’t Insist on Medication

Some people say that what I applied was the ointment given by the doctor, but it still didn’t work. Please accept the third question of soul: Have you persisted for at least one month? Is there any leakage in the middle? Has the duration of a single smear met the doctor’s requirements? If you don’t do it, you can’t blame the doctor for not being able to cure it.

Wrong Practice 4: There is no scientific prevention after cure,

Very not easy to cure beriberi, if not continue to prevent, or relapse.

Wrong Practice 5: No Treatment of onychomycosis

Some people have beriberi and onychomycosis. If onychomycosis is not treated in time, the fungi on the toenail will infect the feet, leading to the recurrence of beriberi.
