Here are nine questions about stroke

1. Improper exercise increases the risk of stroke

When we treated the patients clinically, we found that many elderly people suffered from sudden hemiplegia during morning exercises. Many of them suffered from chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia at the same time, and the high incidence of cerebrovascular diseases was from early morning to early morning.

Cold weather, easy to cause cerebral infarction. If in such a morning, get up early to exercise, strenuous exercise, blood will increase in limb muscle distribution, brain blood supply decreased, more likely to induce cerebral infarction.

Recommendation:The elderly should not exercise too early or intensively, but should exercise moderately.

2. Don’t be too superstitious about health care products

Health care products are not drugs and have no therapeutic effect. Any health care products that claim to be able to [treat] XX diseases must not be bought.

Even for health care products bought through regular channels, you can read the instructions carefully. Most of them only claim the effect of preventing XX diseases.

Suggestion: Health care products are not recommended. Balanced nutrition is more important.

3. Traditional Chinese medicine also has side effects,

People often think that Chinese herbal medicine is [pure natural] and has no toxic or side effects, so they are more willing to use Chinese herbal medicine to treat diseases.

However, the fact is that traditional Chinese medicine also has side effects, and it is still [unclear] that there are side effects of what. There are reports that there are not a few serious side effects of traditional Chinese medicine, such as heart failure and kidney failure.

What about western medicine? Although there are a large number of clear side effects in the instructions, the common general harm to health is not great. However, the probability of occurrence of those serious cases is especially low.

Suggestion: The therapeutic effect and side effects of western medicine are clear. Taking medicine according to the doctor’s advice and reviewing according to the requirements can minimize the harm of side effects.

4. Hypotension is too fast and too low, which is not conducive to health.

Hypertension is easy to cause cerebral infarction, but lowering blood pressure too fast and too low also has the risk of cerebral infarction.

The brain tissue of patients with chronic hypertension has adapted to the high blood pressure level. If the blood pressure drops to the normal level too quickly, it will promote cerebral ischemia and lead to cerebral infarction.

Recommendation:Lower blood pressure slowly and steadily.

5. Rehabilitation is as important as treatment

For a long time, stroke patients only pay attention to the treatment in the acute stage, but do not pay attention to the rehabilitation treatment in the later stage, thus missing the best time for rehabilitation.

Many patients only saved their lives, but left behind severe disabilities and low quality of life.

6. Prepare for Protracted War

Cerebrovascular disease treatment is long-term, systematic, It is not limited to single hospital treatment. Patients who continue treatment after discharge need to establish the awareness of long-term medication, such as long-term low-dose aspirin treatment, anticoagulant treatment for patients with atrial fibrillation, long-term application of antihypertensive, hypoglycemic, plaque stabilizing and lipid-regulating drugs, attention to rehabilitation treatment after stroke, regular review of neck color Doppler ultrasound, intracranial blood vessels (TCD or MRA), etc.

Hypertension, diabetes, arterial stenosis and so on all require long-term medication. Facing diseases that cannot be cured completely, one should learn to coexist with the diseases and take medication for a long time.

A considerable number of patients think that if their blood pressure is not high, they do not need to take antihypertensive drugs. Or take antihypertensive drugs only when the blood pressure is high, and do not need antihypertensive drugs if the blood sugar is not high. What’s more, stop using antihypertensive and antihypertensive drugs without consulting a doctor. In the long run, patients will suffer from complications of heart, brain, kidney and retina, systemic vascular diseases of large and small size, and it is too late to control complications.

Suggestion: Follow the doctor’s advice and consult the doctor before adjusting the medication.

7. Quit smoking, limit alcohol and eat healthily.

Smoking and alcohol abuse are all risk factors for stroke. Diet is recommended to have a low-salt and low-fat diet.

Suggestion: Quitting smoking and limiting alcohol are good for health.

8. Early identification of stroke risk

If there are any of the following signs, seek medical treatment immediately:

One limb is numb and inflexible. The spat angle is askew to one side; Can’t speak clearly, or have problems understanding the language; Watching things rotate and walking unsteadily; Paroxysmal headache and dizziness, and more and more severe; Intermittent paralysis or inability to speak; Sleepy, unable to wake up, or unable to shout.

Suggestion: Remember the signs of stroke and find them as early as possible.

9. Time is life

Cerebrovascular disease, like heart attack, should be regarded as an emergency, treated immediately after stroke, and the concept of “time is life” should be established.

Suggestion: Take a doctor immediately after finding a stroke.
