Older pregnant women, these things should be paid attention to

Gao Yuanyuan once said that he had been urged to give birth to babies:

At this age, the most frequently asked question is [why don’t you have children yet].

It seems that no matter female stars or ordinary people, there will be so many people around who always take on the responsibility of [giving birth].

Today, we invited Teacher Li Shan from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology to talk about the matters needing attention about [elderly parturients].

Some pregnancy complications prefer older parturients.

[Elderly parturient] refers to the parturient who is over 35 years old on the day of delivery.

When you are not pregnant, your blood pressure is normal. However, after pregnancy, there is a group of diseases that coexist with pregnancy and elevated blood pressure. Including hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy, preeclampsia and eclampsia, and chronic hypertension complicated with preeclampsia and chronic hypertension complicated with pregnancy. These are collectively referred to as hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy.

Generally speaking, elderly parturients face greater risks from pregnancy to childbirth than non-elderly parturients.

Hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy is different from ordinary hypertension, Its incidence rate is about 5% ~ 12%. Hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy can lead to small vasospasm, endothelial injury and ischemia of the whole body, reduce hemoperfusion of various organs of all systems of the whole body, seriously affect the health of mothers and infants, and is the main reason for the increase in mortality of pregnant women and premature infants.

If elderly parturients encounter physical discomfort, do not [endure it]

I once met a daring and deadly patient, a 37-year-old pregnant woman with a second child from a relative in my hometown.

After I became pregnant, I didn’t have a prenatal examination. I estimated that I would give birth soon after 37 weeks, so I came to have an examination.

Measure her blood pressure, 185/120 mmHg! I got a fright. This is not to mention, check urine, protein three plus signs, two legs and the whole stomach are swollen!

I immediately prescribed her oral antihypertensive drugs, arranged hospitalization and fetal heart monitoring. This kind of severe eclampsia is simply the rhythm of pumping up in minutes and even cerebral hemorrhage!

Don’t wander around my clinic, elder sister, get into a wheelchair!

As a result, the somebody else looked puzzling: [What’s the matter, sister? It’s okay, it’s okay, I’m not so delicate, I still work at home! ]

I said:

Your legs and stomach are swollen like this. You didn’t even know to come to the hospital?

Elder sister solemnly told me:

This is not pregnant fetal gas! Isn’t it always the case when you are pregnant?

I am so angry that I really want to get angry: fetal gas? Are you carrying a balloon? Or do you bring your own pump? You are so serious, don’t you feel what uncomfortable?

Elder sister calm said:

Nothing, I am in good health, but I am a little too tired. I can’t see clearly these days……

When I said this, my heart thumped again: retinal arteriole spasm!

This is not over yet. The results of fetal heart monitoring over there report that the fetus already has signs of distress!

All right, you have all the next few high-risk symptoms in order, immediately, immediately, hospitalize me!

After being hospitalized to control her illness, she was immediately arranged for surgery. Fortunately, the treatment was timely, and finally the mother and child were safe. When I was discharged from the hospital, I still didn’t refrain from giving them a good training. Elder sister was correct in attitude and deeply realized her mistake of not doing prenatal examination.

Finally, the elder sister asked:

Sister, I have been unable to think of it. Although my blood pressure is high, I am not unable to walk because of leg problems. Why did you have to let me sit in a wheelchair that day?

I said:

Because I’m afraid you’ll lie in my room when you walk!

It can save a lot of things for elderly parturients to attach importance to

This elder sister has become a typical example. I have used her as a teaching material many times to educate everyone to attach importance to prenatal examination.

During the prenatal examination, when doctors build cards for pregnant women, blood pressure is one of the basic items that must be checked.

Timely prenatal examination is something every pregnant woman should do well. Whether you are an ordinary person or a big star.

Prenatal examination can not only understand one’s own blood pressure level and discover hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy in time, but also is the most effective way to intervene as soon as possible and reduce the impact of the disease, and is also a necessary means for good prenatal and postnatal care.

At present, there is no definite conclusion in medicine as to why hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy appears. Scholars have put forward many debates, but so far, the pathogenesis has not been fully clarified.

But for ordinary pregnant women, it is not important to understand the cause of the disease. The most important thing for pregnant women is to know how to prevent and detect these diseases as soon as possible.

So, which are the high risk factors for hypertension complicating pregnancy?

  1. Pregnant women were ≥ 40 years old.

  2. There was a history of preeclampsia.

  3. BMI ≥ 35 kg/㎡ at the first prenatal examination.

  4. Antiphospholipid antibody positive.

  5. Hypertension, chronic nephritis, diabetes.

  6. Family history of preeclampsia (parents or sisters).

  7. Multiple pregnancy, first pregnancy or pregnancy interval ≥ 10 years.

  8. Systolic blood pressure ≥ 130 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 80 mmHg in the first trimester of pregnancy.

In addition to these, excessive mental stress and malnutrition are also one of the high-risk factors for hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy.

In view of the above high-risk factors, what we can do is:

Try to complete the fertility task before the age of 35. Of course, the premise is that you have found the right person. If you really don’t, there is no need to simply make do with the baby. Before pregnancy, control your weight, develop a healthy lifestyle and good living habits. Moreover, after pregnancy, it is also very important to eat well, have balanced nutrition and relax.

Of course, when we say that the risk of elderly parturients is high, we do not mean that as long as it is an elderly parturient, there will definitely be problems. With the development of medicine, the perfection of various examination and treatment methods, everyone will enjoy better care in the process of pregnancy and childbirth.

For the sake of one’s own health, but also for the sake of the baby in the belly, one must do a prenatal examination!
