Physical examination found cholecystolithiasis, what should I do?

Cholecystolithiasis was found in physical examination. Is it a serious disease? What should I do?

If you are a doctor from Clove Clinic, you will patiently give these answers to solve every patient’s doubts. Let’s listen to what doctors say!

Gallbladder stones, also known as cholelithiasis, are the formation of hard substances in the gallbladder, like stones. The gallbladder is located on the right side of the belly, close to the liver. The gallbladder has the function of concentrating and storing bile, helping to decompose fat and digesting certain chemicals in the body.

If gallbladder stones are found, this should be done:

1. Take medicine:

If you need to take prescription painkillers, your doctor will tell you how to take them safely.

Be sure to listen to the doctor when taking medicine. If you think the medicine is not helpful to you or has side effects, please call us.

Tell your doctor all the drugs that cause your allergy and make a list. The list should include drugs, vitamins and Chinese herbal medicines, as well as their dosage, why and when you take them. Please carry this list with you for follow-up and emergency treatment after accidents.

2. Follow-up visit:

Follow the doctor’s advice to return to the clinic. During the treatment, record your questions and bring them with you when you come back to the clinic next time so as not to forget.

3. Healthy diet:

A healthy diet can give you more energy and relieve illness and discomfort. A healthy diet includes fruits, vegetables, whole grain staple foods, low-fat dairy products, beans, lean meat and fish. Please consult your doctor on what’s diet. Depending on each person’s physical condition or suffering from certain chronic diseases, a special diet may be required.

4. Insist on sports:

Doctors can help you work out the most suitable exercise plan for you. Exercise can strengthen your body.

Please contact the doctors in time in case of the following situations:

1. Nausea, vomiting and discomfort;

2. The urine color deepens;

3. Relieve tar-like stool;

4. Have any questions or want to know about the disease and treatment.

However, if the following circumstances occur, please immediately go to the nearby hospital for emergency treatment:

1. Chill and fever;

2. The color of skin and sclera (also known as [white eyes]) turns yellow;

3. Severe pain in the lower right and upper abdomen of the chest cavity.
