There is a misunderstanding: 80 years old still smoking, not in good health?

Some time ago, teacher Hu Dayi, a cardiovascular expert, was interviewed by CCTV. Based on decades of clinical and epidemiological work experience, he made some heartfelt remarks on serious diseases caused by smoking.

We all know that smoking causes lung cancer, but we do not know that myocardial infarction is closely related to tobacco.

Smoking five cigarettes a day doubles the risk of myocardial infarction in ten years compared with non-smokers. Smoking one to two packs of cigarettes a day increases the risk of myocardial infarction by 8 to 10 times compared with non-smokers.

Many friends who smoke will have many excuses in order to continue smoking. Today we will analyze them one by one:

Misunderstanding 1: Many people smoke well until they are 70 or 80 years old.

Wrong.

There are two mistakes in this statement: first, there are not [many people]; Second, it is not [good].

Let’s explain to you separately:

First, the so-called [many people] are an illusion. These people boast everywhere or are being boasted everywhere because there is no big problem with what. In fact, they cannot prove [many people].

You have to hold the data to straighten your waist when talking!

As we mentioned earlier, according to epidemiological data, smoking five cigarettes a day doubles the risk of myocardial infarction in 10 years compared with non-smokers. Smoking one to two packs of cigarettes a day increases the risk of myocardial infarction by 8 to 10 times compared with non-smokers.

Those who said [a lot of people] actually didn’t see many such people at all, but they were choked with such examples every time and couldn’t defend themselves. The next time I encounter such a rebuttal, I will reply: Where are the data? Make sure the other party can’t go on.

Second, it is not [good]. This is also an illusion.

Everyone behaves differently when poisoned by smoking.

Smoking causes systemic diseases. Chronic diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, tumors and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases are all related to tobacco, not only lung cancer. Smoking is harmful to blood vessels of the whole body, such as peripheral blood vessels. There are also oral cancer, gum cancer, leukemia and so on. These diseases are all related to tobacco.

This person may not have lung cancer, do you think he is [well]? No, because of smoking, his chronic bronchitis may have worsened, or his hypertension may have worsened, or his diabetes may have worsened, and his atherosclerosis may have worsened.

Not only that, we should also see so many young people suffering from myocardial infarction. At present, we are most worried about the rapid rejuvenation of myocardial infarction. Myocardial infarction occurs at the age of 278, 332, or early 40s.

Misunderstanding 2: Heart disease, just put stents!

Wrong!

This statement is also two mistakes:

First, myocardial infarction caused by smoking may not even have the chance to put stents, so people will not be able to do so.

Second, not quitting smoking after stent surgery is tantamount to doing it for nothing.

Smoking is the first reason why myocardial infarction is younger in our country. Why do so many young people suffer from myocardial infarction without hypertension and diabetes? This has a lot to do with smoking. The angiopathy of smokers is usually diffuse. Myocardial infarction may knock people down at one time, which is very harmful.

U.S. Doctors talk to patients before doing stents. The first thing is, if you smoke, you must give up smoking. If you don’t quit smoking after stenting, you can say that the stent was done for nothing.

Smoking is not like SARS and other infectious diseases that make people infected immediately. The harm caused by smoking may take five years, eight years and ten years to see. Therefore, many people do not think so. They always feel that doctors and public opinion have gone too far and are too terrible about the harm of smoking. And most importantly, secondhand smoke can also lead to myocardial infarction in non-smokers.

Myth 3: Smoking will make the body reach a state of balance, and the body will not work as soon as it quits smoking.

Wrong.

Many people say that after smoking for 40 years and stopping for one year, what has come.

What, actually? It was too long to smoke and too late to quit! At present, there are many misleading things, such as those who cannot quit immediately and should gradually quit what.

This is an excuse. Many people have lung cancer and myocardial infarction. When they go to the hospital, doctors give up immediately.

Myth 4: Quitting smoking requires one’s perseverance.

Not completely.

Few people can really quit smoking successfully at one time. Quitting smoking requires the efforts of the whole society and the government should also bear the responsibility.

Because it is easy to relapse. When meeting colleagues, friends and classmates and meeting old friends who smoke, everyone will relapse quickly. Those who can quit four or five times are even more successful. Some people quit ten times or so and finally relapse. Each relapse will make him lose confidence in quitting smoking and feel that he cannot quit. Why is smoking cessation service important? When he can’t insist on quitting smoking for many times, if he has the support of the smoking cessation clinic, he can help the patient to quit smoking.

In fact, it is very important to quit smoking successfully. On the one hand, Is to make smoking more and more difficult. There is an example to illustrate this point. One of our hospital directors went to Hong Kong to attend hospital management training. He found that Hong Kong has strict tobacco control measures. In order to smoke a cigarette, one needs to run out of the hospital gate and walk a long way before there is a smoking area. If one does not smoke in this smoking area, one will be severely punished. Therefore, smoke-free legislation in public places is a benefit to smokers and can generate the will to quit smoking.
