Remember these ten points to make the skin of diabetics more comfortable.

Diabetes affects all aspects of the body, including the skin. One third of diabetics are troubled by various skin diseases, but in fact a considerable number of problems can be better prevented or properly treated at an early stage if the following aspects are noticed.

You can start from the following aspects to better stay away from diabetic skin problems:

Step 1 Control Blood Glucose

Patients with high blood sugar have poor resistance, and hyperglycemia in the body will breed more bacteria, which will easily cause infection and bring a series of more serious problems.

Step 2 Avoid overheating the bath water

Some people feel itchy on their bodies, so they take a bath with very hot water. If they want to be scalded and numb, they will not itch. In fact, hot water will wash off the grease on the skin surface, making the skin drier and then more itchy. Therefore, it is OK to take a bath with moderate temperature at ordinary times. If possible, the number of baths should be moderately reduced.

3. Moisture the dry parts properly

If you feel that your skin is dry, you can use some conventional skin care lotion after taking a bath. But don’t apply it to your toes. Excessive humid environment may cause fungi to breed.

4. Environmental humidification

In cold and dry seasons, keep the indoor humidity appropriate. You can use humidifiers and drink plenty of plain boiled water.

Step 5 Avoid scratching your skin

Try not to scratch dry and itchy skin hard, which can easily cause skin damage and infection. Local skin wetting can prevent chapping, especially in winter.

6. Keep the sweating area clean and dry

Talcum powder can be properly used in skin folds that are easy to sweat, such as armpits, groins and other parts, to keep dry.

7. Foot care

Check your feet every day for wounds. Wear loose flat shoes that fit your feet and check for foreign bodies before wearing them.

Step 8: Correctly handle wounds

Small wounds can be cleaned with soap and clear water and then wrapped with sterilized gauze. Do not casually use antibacterial ointment or other drugs applied to the wound. Be sure to change gauze in time to keep the part clean and dry.

If it is a big wound, burn or infection, do not deal with it by yourself, you should go to the hospital to see a doctor immediately.

9. Don’t use gynecologic lotion

Women should not use all kinds of gynecological lotions casually, which will destroy the acid-base balance in vagina and make them more susceptible to infection.

10. Seek medical treatment in time

If you cannot solve your skin problems, you must consult a dermatologist in time.
